About Dr. Burnett
Dr. John F. Burnett grew up in Bakersfield, CA and has been in practice in Fresno for over 25 years. He has built a trusted reputation as among the most caring and experienced board-certified plastic surgeons in the area. Dr. Burnett believes looking good and feeling good are closely connected. He will listen to your concerns and will help you discover the many surgical and nonsurgical options available to help you reach your beauty potential. Giving back to his patients and others is of great importance to Dr. Burnett. He founded Mighty Moms Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides resources and financial assistance for women struggling with the economic burden of cancer treatment. A car enthusiast and a sports fan, Dr. Burnett enjoys skiing, restoring old vehicles, and competing in time trials with his sand dragster. Another of his favorite pastimes is golf, and Dr. Burnett is always proud to boast about his handicap of ten with his patients.
Education and Certification
After graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in business, Dr. Burnett attended the University of California, Davis for his pre-med studies. He spent his first two years of medical school in Mexico where he quickly learned the language and to this day is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Burnett transferred to the Medical College of Virginia and completed his medical degree in 1980.
Specialties and Expertise
Surgery was of particular interest to Dr. Burnett throughout his education. Following the completion of a general surgery residency in Fresno, CA, Dr. Burnett spent two years at Southern Illinois University training under Dr. Elvin Zook in plastic and reconstructive surgery. After completing his training, Dr. Burnett returned to Fresno and has been practicing since 1988. As a board-certified general and plastic surgeon, Dr. Burnett’s practice includes reconstructive, cosmetic, and hand surgery. In addition, he offers an array of nonsurgical treatments, including injectables and laser treatments.
